Afghanistan reports 303 new COVID-19 cases, 11 new deaths

Kabul:  Afghanistan on Tuesday recorded 303 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, taking the total tally to 64,122. According to the country's Health Ministry, 11 more deaths from the coronavirus epidemic were reported during the period, taking the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 2,762 since the outbreak of the pandemic in February 2020 in the Asian country. An additional 108 patients were reported to have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 55,118 in the country.…

China lands rover on Mars

Beijing: China on Saturday successfully landed a spacecraft on Mars, state media announced quoting China National Space Administration (CNSA). The rover -- Tianwen-1 -- touched down at its pre-selected landing area in the southern part of Utopia Planitia, a vast plain on the northern hemisphere of Mars, at 7:18 a.m. (Beijing Time), the CNSA announced. Israel reports 20 new cases of coronavirus

Tel Aviv: Israel on Friday reported 20 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the overall tally to 8,39,079. In the same period, 1 person died, mounting the death toll to 6,380. The total recoveries in Israel rose to 831,950 after 62 newly recovered cases were added, while the number of active cases decreased to 749, the lowest since March 20, 2020. The number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in Israel stands at over 5.43 million, or 58.2 percent of its total population.

UK to ease COVID-19 restrictions from May 17

London: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday said restriction in England will be further lifted from next week. Mr Johnson announced that from May 17, pubs, bars and restaurants in England will be permitted to open indoors, while indoor entertainment will also resume, including cinemas, museums and children's play areas.
