New Delhi President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday said Yoga could help the body stay fit and mind calm in this COVID-19 pandemic.
In his message to people on the 6th International Yoga Day he said that Yoga is a great gift from India to the world, which can keep the body fit and the mind serene especially amid the stress and strife during the present COVID 19 times.
Taking to twitter he expressed ,”Greetings on #InternationalYogaDay. The ancient science of Yoga is India’s great gift to the world. Glad to see more and more people adopting it. Amid stress and strife, especially with #Covid19, practicing Yoga can help keep the body fit and mind serene.”
He also shared pictures of his Yoga practice at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted everyone on the occasion highlighting the importance of Pranayam in strengthening the respiratory system.
The PM added that several forms and various asanas, postures in Yoga promote immunity building and strengthen the body which is the key in the fight against the pandemic.
