Chandigarh: While commenting on the statement of Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib regarding insecurity among the minorities, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Sunil Jakhar said if this is the case then why the Akali Dal which claims to be the representative of minorities especially Sikhs, enjoys power in the Modi government which is allegedly violating the rights of the minorities.

He said the Jathedar should direct the Shiromani Akali Dal to break its political alliance with the “Modi Sarkar” which was creating an atmosphere of insecurity for the minorities.

Mr. Jakhar said although the Congress party respects the concern of the Jathedar regarding the minorities but still he should be careful while speaking on such a sensitive issue to avert being quoted as spokesperson for the anti-nationals. He cautioned the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to beware of the hidden agenda of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and US based SFJ chief Pannu.

He appealed to the Jathedar to act against the separatists who were operating from abroad and also take action against the enemies of the Panth in Punjab itself.
