New Delhi Asserting the need to build pressure on China, the Congress on Wednesday said that China does not understand the language of peace and deserves a befitting reply in its own language.
Addressing media persons here along with Gaurav Gogoi, Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said, ”Based on experiences so far with China, it seems that the country does not take talks and peaceful discussions seriously and can only understand aggressive stances and power.”
”Whenever there has been tension on borders from Chinese side and India has tried to resolve the issue peacefully, it (China) has always replied aggressively to the same.
”Such experiences clearly show that China just understands the language of power and it may only understand when India replies in a similar manner.”
The Congress leaders said that the government must realize the situation and understand the gravity and not let Ladakh, Arunachal become another Doklam.

”It is important to build pressure on China. However, difficulty is that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is busy building his image and is not troubled by intrusions on the border ,”they alleged.
The Congress leaders further said that Chinese Army has held Indian land, ”but our government is just saying what China said regarding the same”.
”We condemn a government which is hiding behind the Army and is not answering,” Mr Tiwari said.
Congress said that while on the one hand, the government is silent over China holding our land, and on the other hand, is accusing the opposition of demoralizing the armed forces.
