FCC South Asia elects new PresidentNew Delhi:  Munish Gupta, Chairman & Managing Editor of PIO TV, was elected as President of the prestigious Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia in a landslide victory through the electronic ballot.

Munish has been a member of the Managing Committee and Secretary of FCC South Asia over the last 4 years that saw the Club rise from being almost closed down to the most vibrant and active ground for professional, academic, cultural and social activities, engagement and debates for the working Foreign Correspondents that cover all of South Asia. FCC members hail from every major news media outlet in the world and any news emanating from India and South Asia is most often contributed by an FCC South Asia member.

Members of this prestigious club include 200 plus Foreign Correspondents, 500 plus Indian Correspondents who cover International Relations, 100 odd Diplomats and top executives of Multilateral Institutions, 150 plus top professionals from different walks of life and retired government officials.

As India becomes a global strategic player, a top economy and a formidable regional power and achieves development and pursues new paths, the world attention is focused on India. Foreign Correspondents and their coverage of India and South Asia are only likely to increase significantly. FCC South Asia will be an instrumental institution in the coming months.

Munish is a second-generation journalist. He is a Physics graduate who then pursued a post-graduate diploma in media and mass communications. He has achieved many firsts in the media and entertainment industries in the USA and India particularly.

The FCC South Asia was founded in 1958 and has begun its 63rd year of operations. The 60th anniversary was celebrated with Honourable Vice President of India Shri Venkaiah Naidu as the Chief Guest.
