New Delhi: India’s COVID-19 tally crossed the 9 lakh mark on Tuesday, after the nation recorded a sharp new spike of 28498 cases in the past 24 hours, a Health Ministry update said.
The total confirmed cases now stand at 9,06,752 , as per the government data.
Fatalities due to the pandemic have now reached 23727, after 553 more lives were claimed by the lethal virus since Monday.

However, on the brighter side with the improving recovery rate, number of cured and discharged cases have now reached 5,71,459.
The cases at present under active medical supervision in the country stand at 311565 , while the difference between the active cases and recoveries has been increasing on the positive side.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,20,92,503 samples have been tested for COVID as per the Indian Council of Medical Research till Monday.
