New Delhi: India’s Covid-19 tally rose to 8,78,254 cases on Monday after the biggest single-day spike of 28,701 fresh infections was recorded in the past 24 hrs, Union Health Ministry said in its daily update.
According to government data, the total number of active cases now stands at 3,01,609.

Meanwhile, recovery rate, too, continues to show a steady increase with 5,53,471 COVID patients having being cured and discharged so far, whereas 23,174 people have succumbed to the virus.
According to the ICMR, 1,18,06,256 cumulative samples have been tested until Sunday.
