Islamabad Pakistan former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and present Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid tested positive for novel coronavirus on Monday.
As per a report in Dawn, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawab (PML-N) spokesperson confirmed about Abbasi’s heath condition and informed that the leader has quarantined himself at home.
PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif extended well wishes to Abbasi’s health and called him a “valuable asset of the party”.
Railway Minister Rashid’s health condition was confirmed by the railways ministry in a statement.
As per the statement, Mr Rashid was not experiencing any symptoms and had gone into self-isolation at home for two weeks, as per recommendations by the doctors.
Meanwhile, two more PML-N politicians rushed to get tested for COVID-19 as they were in contact with the former prime minister.
As per media report, recently Abbasi had went to the Lahore High Court and also held a press conference
Several politicians, including members of the ruling Pakistan Tereek-e-Insaf (PTI), have been diagnosed with the virus in Pakistan where more than 1,03,000 people have tested positive across the country.
Prominent faces are National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and PPP leader Saeed Ghani, all of whom have recovered.
