New Delhi: Continuing its attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the India China border standoff, the Congress on Friday charged the PM of failing to name China as the aggressor during his address to the jawans injured in the clash with Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley.
In a series of tweets, senior Congress leader and former Home Minister P Chidambaram, referring to the surprise visit by the PM to Ladakh to meet the jawans injured in the Galwan Valley clash, said, ”For the third time in a week, PM did not name China as the aggressor, why? What is the purpose of talking about an unnamed ‘enemy’ to the people of India and the jawans in Ladakh?”
Chidambaram said that the questions posed by the Congress to the Prime Minister on the issue still remain unanswered.
”PM has still not answered our questions about where the violent clashes took place on June 15-16 between Chinese and Indian troops and if the Chinese have intruded into Indian territory at several points
Nor has the government answered our questions on the satellite images showing Chinese troops occupying key positions in places hitherto considered as undisputed Indian territory,” Chidambaram said.
AICC media incharge Randeep Surjewala also attacked the PM for failing to mention China during his address.

PM Modi on Friday visited Nimu in Leh to meet personnel of the Army, Air Force and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
Accompanied by Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, the Prime Minister reached Leh around 9.30 am.
Addressing the jawans, the PM, without mentioning the name of China, said, ”the age of expansionism is over, this is the age of development. History is witness that expansionist forces have either lost or were forced to turn back.”
Addressing troops, he said: “The weak can never accomplish peace, the brave do.”
