PM to interact with CMs to discuss Covid-19

Prime Minister Narendra ModiNew Delhi Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors and administrators of 21 states and union territories on Tuesday to discuss the Covid-19 situation in the wake of rapidly spreading coronavirus disease.

Mr Modi will hold a video-conference with chief ministers and administrators of 15 states and UTs on Wednesday also.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister will interact with chief ministers and Lt governors of Punjab, Assam, Kerala, Chandigarh, Goa, Manipur, Nagaland, Ladakh, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadar Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Sikkim and Lakshadweep.

On Wednesday, discussions will be held separately in the worst Covid-19 affected states and UTs including Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

Chief Ministers of Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will also be present in the interaction on June 17.

Mr Modi is also expected to deliberate on the situation arising after the implementation of ‘Unlock one’ phase in the meeting scheduled in the afternoon.

This will be Prime Minister’s sixth round of consultation with the chief ministers, the last being on May 11 where he is expected to deliberate on ways and means to keep the death rate and the action plan ahead.
